In 1992, Larisa Levchenko graduated from the Moscow State Historical Archival Institute (Russian State Humanitarian University, Moscow, Russia) with a degree in scientific and technical information, technology of informational process. Immediately after that she started working in the State Archives of the Mykolayiv (Nikolaev) region, Ukraine. In 2003, she acceted the role of the director of the archive. In 2003, she defended her thesis on the topic "Nikolayev and Sevastopol military governorship, 1805-1900". In 2014, she defended her doctoral thesis on the topic "Development of archival affaire in the United States of America (end of 18th - beginning of the 21st century)". Since 1996, she has worked simultaneously at various universities in the city of Nikolaev, first at the South Slavic Institute of the Kiev Slavonic University, and after its disbandment - at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University and the Nikolaev branch of the National University of Culture and Arts. Her main disciplines include: archival science, international information, the history of southern and western Slavs, and the prevailing issues of the history of foreign countries. Dr. Levchenko is the author of more than a 100 scientific studies. Her sphere of scientific interests include the history of archives and archival science from the Ancient East to the present, as well as the history of Nikolaev in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
